What do we need to provide?
We will give you a questionnaire to fill out requesting details about your wedding, (location, dates, times, names, etc).
What kind of retainers do you need?
We require a 50% non-refundable retainer in order to book your wedding date.
Will you hold a date without a retainer?
Your date is reserved only when we have your retainer.
Do you take pictures before the wedding?
Yes, normally some bridal party pictures, bride by herself, groom by himself keeping the two apart of course. This makes the session after the wedding shorter. We are also available for all day sessions starting with the hair and makeup and running until the reception closes.
How soon will my proofs be ready?
Your digital files will be available online within 6 weeks of the date of your wedding, you will then place your order and after a 7 day proof time (during which we color correct and enhance your photos) they will be sent directly to your home. Your Digital negatives are kept on file for future ordering needs for up to 12 months. Please refer to your contract for specific information regarding storage after 12 months.
Your Prices are good, but can't uncle Bob do just as good with his camera?
Maybe, however, remember we have a lot of experiance, plus we have professional cameras, Lighting equipment for your formal pictures, and backup equipment in case something goes wrong. Plus we always shoot with two photographers. Another plus is Uncle Bob gets to enjoy your wedding more.
Do you offer any discounts?
We offer a 5% discount if you pay the complete package price when you book. If either of you are an active member of the the armed services we also offer a discount of 5%.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes we accept most major cards.
Do you have any payment plans?
Yes and no, Your deposit of 50% is due when you book, the final two payments are due according to the pay schedule listed in your contract. We do not offer any payment plans that extend after your wedding date.
What is the online ordering for guests all about?
It is a free service that we offer you to proof your images online and allow your guest to see your pictures and optionally give them the chance to purchase them. It's secure, pictures are shipped directly to your guest.
Do you charge extra for Digital effects on purchased images?
NO. Black & white, Sepia, Vignettes, Borders, Color Accents, etc. Just specify these when you order. We crop images for best fit, so your finished picture will look it's best.
Why is Wedding photography expensive?
Shooting a wedding involves more than just showing up and snapping a few pictures. There is a minimum of 3 hours of prep time to get the camera gear setup, at least an hour each in the chapel/reception hall getting the camera settings correct and setting up lighting. Figure in about 2 days of post processing for every 6 hours of shooting and what looks to be a 6 hour job turns into about 50 hours of work.
Do you provide the RAW images to us? No.
But what if we ask really nicely?
No. And this is why.
Raw files are like your children. You create them(take the photo), then you nurture them(edit them), then you present them to the world(have them printed). I wouldn't ask you to give away your children, or your rights to them. So why ask me to give up rights to my work? However, with that said we do offer raw files on a per case basis. If you feel you need to full raw file please feel free to ask and we can work with you on it.
How are the photographs for albums/Proofs Selected?
Since there are a lot of images for your album we talk with you to get an idea of the feel you want for your album and we select the overall design of the album. You do get to preview the album before it goes to production, and are allowed to change up to 10% of the album at no additional charge. Proofs are selected by us, printed by our lab and you get them with the number of the image on the back. Due to the time involved we do not allow you to select the proofs, the images we select are the ones that over the years we have found that you are most likely to want.
Once you book with us we will give you some usefull tools for your wedding, These include a suggested photo list and a document about getting the most out of your photography and wedding. We want your day to go as smooth as it can. We are always open to ideas you have.
